Jordan MacIntosh-Hougham is a Seattle-based performance artist. They graduated from Bennington College in 2016 with a BA in dance and video, and are currently working on their MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University.
Coming from a dance and somatics background, Jordan creates performance works that amplify video and telecommunication mediums as transhuman collaborators. They address some of life’s most painfully existential questions with a self-effacing wit. Campy and colorful elements often juxtapose a raw and real quality within the movement. Through queering the dualistic boundaries between dance and technology, they create work that challenges what is authentic vs. artificial.
They have participated in artist residencies at EMPAC, Open Flight, Velocity Dance Center, and Studio Current and have worked for artists such as Morgan Thorson, Drama Tops, Kota Yamazaki, Elena Demyanenko, Karthik Pandian, Andros Zins- Browne, CommonForm and Heather Kravas.
